Casa Baccichetto “VI” – Malanotte del Piave DOCG

The Malanotte del Piave DOCG pays tribute to the centuries‑old winemaking tradition of the Piave valley. The Raboso del Piave grape is known for its powerful tannins and lively acidity — traits once prized by Venetian merchants because the wine could easily survive long sea voyages.Casa Baccichetto respects this tradition: part of the grapes are dried in an appassimento style, giving the wine extra concentration and depth. The result is an authentic, characterful wine that reflects the soul of Veneto.

Description

Tasting note

  • Aroma: Deep aromas of black cherry, morello cherry, dried plums, cocoa, tobacco and a touch of balsamic. Subtle spice and oak notes add complexity without overpowering.
  • Palate: Full and powerful, with firm yet ripe tannins — typical Raboso. Black cherry, blackberry compote, dark chocolate, liquorice and a light smokiness. High natural acidity provides freshness and length.
  • Finish: Long, intense and elegantly drying, with tones of dark cherries and cocoa.
  • Style: Powerful, structured, gastronomic. A wine that develops beautifully with air and ageing.

Food pairing

Perfect with:

  • Braised dishes (venison stew, ossobuco, wild boar)
  • Dry aged beef
  • BBQ with smoky accents
  • Roasted vegetables with balsamic
  • Aged cheeses (Piave Vecchio, Parmigiano 36 months)
