Fortified wines are made by adding distilled spirit to wine, creating fuller body, higher alcohol and often residual sweetness. Styles such as Port, Sherry and Madeira offer complex notes of dried fruit, nuts, caramel and spice. Perfect as a dessert wine, digestif or premium gift.
