Today I visited Casa Baccichetto in Ponte di Piave, and it turned out to be a meeting with a winery that truly reveals its soul. Marco Baccichetto guided me through the vineyards, the cellar, and the philosophy behind their wines — a tour that was not only informative, but personal, energetic, and full of passion.
Three terroirs, three personalities
Casa Baccichetto works with three distinct soil types within one region — each expressing its own character in the glass.
- Clay soils — power, structure, depth. Wines from these parcels show a firm backbone and ripe fruit.
- Hillside vineyards — more ventilation, more freshness. Expect tension, elegance, and lively acidity.
- River‑area sandy soils — light, aromatic, playful. Refined wines with a subtle saline touch.
Marco explained how each parcel is intentionally matched with specific grape varieties, allowing terroir and varietal to strengthen one another.

SQNPI: sustainability with proof
Casa Baccichetto follows the SQNPI certification system, an Italian standard for sustainable agriculture. This means:
- Reduced chemical intervention
- Protection of biodiversity
- Respect for soil and water
- Transparent, controlled cultivation methods
It’s not marketing — it’s a certified commitment to responsible viticulture.
PIWI & Souvignier Gris: the future in the glass
A highlight was the explanation of their PIWI‑certified Souvignier Gris. PIWI varieties are fungus‑resistant, making them far more sustainable to grow. Fewer treatments, less environmental impact, more natural balance.
Casa Baccichetto’s Souvignier Gris is:
- aromatic yet precise
- mineral yet approachable
- modern with a classic soul
A perfect example of innovation and tradition working hand in hand.

A tasting that stays with you
During the tasting, one thing stood out: consistency. Casa Baccichetto’s wines are pure, honest, and terroir‑driven. Marco’s explanations enriched every sip — as if you were tasting not just wine, but the landscape, the family history, and the vision behind each bottle.
Casa Baccichetto is not a large commercial winery. It’s a place where craftsmanship, respect for nature, and curiosity for the future come together. A visit that leaves you wanting more.
